Recap 2011

Posted on January 1, 2012 at 9:20 AM Comments comments (0)

Another experienced year. Both sorrow and delightful experiences learned in these 365 days.

I made resolutions to have a healthier life style. I guess I fulfilled it, my average sleeping hours increased now and I’ve been exercising regularly too but I’ve not hit the pool as often as I used too. One disappointment was to lose weight. I did lose some but wanted to lose up more but seems like stagnant now. I should achieve more with my extreme yoga. Good thing is I am building a lot of muscles and am loving it  :D

One experienced that leave me a scar deeper than any wound. Leave me emotionally imbalance. I am not the same as I am anymore.

What a Weekend

What a weekend....this left a place in my memory. I am still in confusion what just happened.

Austin - Oct 10

Posted on October 29, 2010 at 11:29 AM Comments comments (0)

Shanghai is adhoc? This is super adhoc. Is right after SH trip and i only received my visa on Tuesday and i am suppose to fly off on Thursday. No choice of the last minute budget approval. Dell needs to learn how to plan ahead.

Packing is a headache. I waste no time and started to transfer my stuff from SH lugage to US lugage bag but until the very last minute i am still packing and unpacking stuff. I really dont know about the weather esp in SF anyway i survived it. Next time i would be empty lugage instead and go there to shop for clothes :D

The journey was tiring. A light sleeper like me actually manage to sleep all the way in the flight...amazing. I do hope i dont have to ensure Cathay again. This plane is not comfortable at all, very dissapointed bout it. I've complained the most on Cathay for this whole journey which is very bad if you know me.

Arriving in Austin and finding a pleasant room, such a delight...nice soft bed, huge room with kitchen and study desk. It actually made me feel the flight was ok, is worth to ensure it...hahaha.

Round Rock - cool place indeed. Very proud to be a Dellian too coz there are 15 building all around the area and some places even give us discount with Dell badge. What i am most impress and makes me wanna go back is the hospitality of the people of Austin. From SH to Austin, such a huge difference. Until today i am still praising people of Austin to my friends and family.

Shanghai - Sept 2010

This is one of the adhoc planned trip but turn out not too bad although there are some fallback here and there. Conclusion…I would go again, following the same exact plan. Why? Shanghai is cool. Expo was exponential, a lot to see, a lot to experience. I feel smarter already :p

Shanghai no doubt is a lovely city if minus the ppl….haha. The city is alive at night, very lovely streets of light of the bund and Nanjing Rd but is too crowded everywhere maybe coz is expo season. The people are just not so bearable for timid and Shorty like me. Loud, rude and rough. I don’t know how many times I’ve been knocked, being pushed and they do it like they are supposed to. Worst case is every 5 steps away there are people smoking….arghhh

Despite all that, I still wanna go and I’ve been there twice. Hotel was good. Priced very reasonable, nice room and very good location. Is beside Sozhou Greek 5 mins walk to the Nanjing Rd and 10 mins walk to the Bund. Metro line 10 and line 2 are accessible from a brief walk too.

Expo, majestic place. It a waste when it will be tear down in November. No doubt is tiring to walk from one pavilion to another but mostly are very nicely done, makes me feel delighted. Is like going to movie, museum, art studio, science exhibition and also roller coaster ride.

Fun day

Posted on May 13, 2010 at 7:58 AM Comments comments (0)

I've been off work yesterday and today. Was in training in CityBayview. Went for Team and Collaboration training by Fern. Fern's training is always fun but this time is every more fun and energized. I am also with Cheryl who is pretty havoc for the 2 days:tongue:.

We had to work in team to get over few challenges which makes us closer to each other both in relationship and physical contact. Haha...u'll never guess what we had to do. We've even took a group photo this time, first time i had group photo for training. I guess we all like to stay in contact with each other after this.

Back at home, pinged Julea to asked her if she wants to go to Glenn's talk. She cant make it but suggested me to add Glenn to FB. I went FB to search for him and found his contact and few other IRC frens and started to add them. Immediatelly i got a message from Glenn and Kee Sitt. I think i've not talk to them for 10 years. Glenn was blur kept on saying he is old now....hahaha. Kee Sitt remembered :).

Is nice to reconnect back with old frens. Hope Glenn can recognise me next weekend.

Round Island

Posted on April 24, 2010 at 11:39 AM Comments comments (0)

Just completed my round island trip few hours ago. Is weird i didn’t feel tired, probably i am still high with caffeine from yesterday nite.

I thought about this trip for quite some time and did not put my mind into it until my bday. I was very tempted to go for a drive that day coz it was an awful day for me. Anyway, I started to draft out the plan and sent to my gang and we set a date for it. Then I started to research for the places to go. Little did I know this small island has so many interesting places.

I woke up pretty early at 7am today due to my Latte. Pack all the stuff and wated for the gang. We set course to Dim Sum then head to Taman Rimba in Teluk Bahang. I visited this place about 20 years back with grandma….God I miss you. The place now has transform into man made pools, a lot of people taking a dip there.

Next we head to Titi Kerawang waterfall. I’ve always fascinated with waterfall but this is a very much disappointment. Is dirty and not much of a fall either. Botanical Garden’s waterfall still the best.

Photobucket

On the way to Balik Pulau, we saw very interesting view from the hill.

Photobucket

Laksa…this is one thing that attracts ppl like Yuet Ling and Hooi Min to this trip. I still feel Ayer Itam laksa is the best but Siam Laksa has a interesting taste, should have tried that.

Photobucket

A short walk away from Laksa is the Holy Name of Jesus Church of Balik Pulau. Very lovely church, with delicate stained glass.

Photobucket

Next we stopped to enjoy the view of Southern Penang.

Photobucket

We left Balik Pulau and head next destination which coincidently needs to en route through Dell…weekend also need to go pass Dell.

Reach Batu Maung after I made an illegal turn :P

Bottle Temple, another interesting place. All the walls have modern and traditional beer/wine bottles. Very fascinated with it.

Carlsberg bottle

Hunger starts and we headed to our last destination, Teluk Tempoyak seafood. Dinner by the beach ends the day.

Hachiko: A Dog's Tale

Posted on March 21, 2010 at 8:26 AM Comments comments (0)

I saw the trailer last year. Din manage to get the movie until yesterday. To be honest, at this time i am writing i did not manage to finish the movie...you'll know why when you watch the movie.

Is based on a true story. Yes, this time is much more heartwarming as it came from a dog. Such loyalty ...makes me wonder if there is such thing in human?

Further thinking makes me pity the dog in the movie. The innocent dog needs to endure snow and rain to remake such wonderful movie. Akita dog is really obidient.

Blind Side

Wednesday nite – suppose to be watching movie in cinema but instead I choose to stay at home trying to get something out of my old computer.

While working, I decided to play a movie – Blind Side.

Indeed my decision to forgo 72 Tenants is right. After completed the movie, first feeling came to me was…I am glad this is base on a read story. There is still humane left among us. I do hope the part when the doubt of the good deed is not true, if that is true this show how i feel bout this world is true. "Attention on you when you dont need it but not when you are in despair"

What Is Important?

Posted on October 28, 2009 at 10:58 PM Comments comments (0)

I was in late shift yesterday. Feels like long time since my the last time I came in late.

I witness something that emotional yesterday nite. A fellow colleague stayed back as well, he receives a call from his family.

A video call, with his little daughter wanted to say hi. Mommy was teaching the daughter to talk and asking what time daddy will be home?

The father just smiles and unable to give an answer to her….

I finish my work and left at about 8.30pm, I was told he often stays back late. I feel this is very depressing probably he be maybe used to it but is not right.

Technology brought us closer…I would say screw the technology. What we need a the real warmth. Isnt it better if the father can be home for dinner, and able to tug in his daughter to bed?

We often miss out on things that is important. Let us remind ourselves not to leave our family behind. I need to remind myself to, I am still working after I am home.
